BUNKER HILL AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE EVENTS   

 

Saturday Sept. 11, 2010 the Bunker Hill Area Chamber of Commerce will host the
Bunker Hill, "Fall Festival and Car show".

Opening ceremonies will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a Patriotic theme in remembrance of the Sept.11, 2001, heinous attack against the United States by foreign terrorists which cost the lives of some 3300 men, women and children. 

Mallory Schwegel will sing  "The "Star Spangled Banner" and "God Bless America" A cappella  Closing the ceremonies
Don Breitweiser will release a covey of white doves symbolic of calling for peace.

We then will have prayer for the families of the casualties of the attacks against  the United States of America and the safety of this event.

11:00 a.m. Pie Eating contest
                  Registration for the Washers and Horseshoes Tournaments by members of the library board.  
                  Car show

12:00 Noon the Little Miss and the Little Masters competition will take place.
       
The Talent Show, where contestants will be in competition against each other for First, Second and Third place, will begin right after the pie eating contest. .

The Car Show will begin at 11:00 a.m.  Your car entry  may be registered at the Corner of North Franklin and East Warren St.
If you wish to spin out your car must be registered for the show and you must sign a waiver that you will bear the responsibility of the spin out, have a valid drivers license, proof of insurance and ownership of the car. The car show will end at 4:00 p.m.  There will be 12 trophies awarded to the entries.  The first 100 cars registered will be given a dash plaque.

At approximately this time the FFA Alumina from Staunton will arrive with about 75 restored older farm tractors and will be down on East Street for your viewing pleasure.

At 3:00 p.m. we will award a Plaque to the Citizen of the Year that you have picked.

There will be a lot of  food and soft drinks and many other activities going on in between the scheduled shows on the stage.  Other activities include a book sale, duck pond game, 50/50, raffles. 

5:45 p.m.   The winners of the 50/50 and raffle for the Snapper string trimmer/edger combination will be announced.

6:00 p.m - 9:00 p.m..   The renowned "Harmon Family" will entertain us.   Food stands will continue selling food as well.
